Freedom Day on the 27th of April, was a day where the whole community rallied together in support of our Kloof & Highway SPCA.
Our virtual Killarney Brick Mutt Marathon was not only incredibly successful, but it was fabulous to see everyone and their animals coming together to help alleviate our dire financial situation.
At the time when lockdown prohibited exercise or any form of social gatherings, the virtual Mutt Marathon entailed people choosing a particular activity to participate in their home. They could choose to run, walk, or cycle either indoors on stationary equipment or outdoors in their gardens.
The community backed the Kloof and Highway SPCA and the support was amazing. With over 1000 participants sharing and posting their activities on Facebook, we felt so grateful to see the response from our wonderful community.
We raised a staggering R205 000 and for that, we thank every single participant and supporter. The event was a huge success and a lot of fun was had by all.
