Helping People and their Animals

Staffed by a fulltime vet, vet nurse, inspector, and a team of animal welfare assistants and orderlies, our Animal Clinic provides excellent medical treatment for sick and injured animals. Many of these are animals brought to the Kloof & Highway SPCA by our Inspectors, or by owners who love their animals but can’t afford private vet care.

Sadly, we are seeing a big increase in the number of people needing to make use of our services, as pet owners struggle to make ends meet. Often their animals are the only source of comfort in times of hardship.

Our hospital treats thousands of animals every year, and we rely on contributions from our loyal donors and corporate partners to subsidise veterinary care for pets of poorer owners.

Please note that we only provide primary veterinary care. Animals needing specialised veterinary care which is not performed at the SPCA, kindly contact us first if you are unsure if we can treat the animal.

Please note that the Kloof & Highway SPCA does not have a vet on standby after hours. The only after-hours collections we can arrange for are for your pet to be humanely euthanized.
